Google Nest Hub devices commonly showcase information like the date and the current weather conditions on the home screen.
This feature comes in handy when someone wants to ascertain these details at just a glance.
But it seems that the section that displays weather has disappeared from the home screen of various Nest devices.
Weather information missing from Google Nest Hub
Many users are reporting an issue where the weather information is missing or has disappeared from their Google Nest Hub.
Every morning I wake up and the weather/traffic information is not available. Restarting the unit or opening the Google home app on my phone fixes this. Is there a long term solution here?

All my GHs are giving me a Wiki of what is Rain when I ask when the next time it will rain. Anyone else?

It seems quite possible that the issue started with the Cast Firmware Version 1.60.305621 that was introduced three-weeks ago.
Apparently, Google Nest Hub units running on Version 1.56.290464 or older, continue to work fine for users.
It’s also worth noting that the weather information reportedly disappears during the night.
So owing to this issue, Google Nest Hub is only showing the time on the home screen for some users.
Official acknowledgment
Google has acknowledged the issue where weather information is missing for Nest Hub users.
Potential workarounds
Fortunately, a user seems to have found a temporary workaround that involves turning the Google Home permissions for Location to ‘All the time’.
For months now the outside temperature on my hub has not been showing until I opened the hub app on phone then it updated.. I changed the permissions for location of Google home to all the time and it’s fixed

If keeping the Location setting ‘ON’ all the time isn’t possible, those affected can try rebooting their devices.
I’ve had this issue on and off for months now. It’s really frustrating that the only fix seems to be rebooting the device.

Users still struggling to see weather information on their Nest devices can also try the following workaround.
I’ve used an electronic timer in the power point that turns power off to the Nest Hub at 5.00am and back on at 6.00am. Doing this restores the weather/temperature display. Works for the time being. Cheers
