Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles crashing or throwing 'A communication error occurred' message on Xbox, issue acknowledged

Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles is a retelling of the already popular Demon Slayer anime. It is an impressive 3D action-adventure fighting game developed by CyberConnect2.

The developers of the game recently introduced three new DLC characters from the Entertainment District.

While this is certainly good news for players, the game still has some kinks that need to be ironed out in order to improve the overall experience.

Many players (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) are reporting an issue where Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles is crashing on Xbox.

Me and my friends are on xbox series x and we cant create or join group matches so we cant play together. The only one of my friends who can create a group match is on xbox one and When we join him it shuts down his game or ours. Please fix this as soon as possible.

Does anybody know what’s going on?? I can’t play anything online since yesterday, and when i want to play ranked, by game just crashes

The repeated crashing of the game is preventing players from creating or joining group matches. Many also find themselves unable to play the game online.

The issue is quite frustrating for players as sometimes, the entire game shuts off while inviting someone to a group battle on Xbox.

‘A communication error occurred’ message

Apart from crashing, the game (1, 2, 3, 4) is also showing a ‘A communication error occurred’ message while searching or creating a room online.

I just bought the Game for Xbox series s, but each time i try to play online It says There IS a communication Network error

It does this to me also. Either says communication error or sends me back to Home Screen

The game is basically unplayable for many players as it either throws an error message or simply takes them back to the Home Screen.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, developers have acknowledged the issue where Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles is crashing on Xbox and said that the team is working on a fix.
