New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on April 04, 2022) follows:
Spotify was launched in 2006 as a music service with a new concept based on streaming. Currently, it is the most popular music streaming service with millions of users around the world.
Over the years, Spotify has been gaining support for more and more features and platforms. For instance, the service is currently compatible with NUVO audio systems speakers.
NUVO audio systems are designed to offer high-quality multi-room home audio distribution systems. That said, lately the compatibility between Spotify and NUVO audio systems has been experiencing issues.
More specifically, many Spotify users are currently unable to connect the service to their NUVO audio systems speakers.
Spotify users unable to connect to NUVO audio systems
Spotify users can connect the service to smart speakers through the Spotify Connect feature. For that, all devices must be compatible and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
However, according to multiple reports, the NUVO audio systems speakers appear in the list of Spotify Connect available devices, but users get stuck on ‘connecting’ when trying to link them.

My Spotify app will no longer connect to my Nuvo whole home audio system. I can see my Nuvo speakers in the list of available devices to play from but after selecting a zone I get a “connecting” message and nothing else. I’ve tried updating apps, firmware, resetting network equipment, removing and reinstalling the Spotify app and nothing works.

Some reports indicate that the issue in question has been going on for weeks at least.

Spotify team is aware, a couple of workarounds
The Spotify team is already aware of the issue that NUVO Speaker users are facing. However, there are no details yet on an ETA for a fix.

In the meantime, there are a couple of workarounds that reportedly help resolve the glitch. It seems that the cause of the problem could be a NULL response from most ISPs DNS servers during the connection between Spotify and Nuvo speakers.
So, the first workaround is to set ‘8.8.8.8’ as your router DNS address.

If the above doesn’t work for you, you can also try the following:
If that doesn’t take or you only have an ISP gateway, you can statically assign each NUVO zone a static IP and DNS from Settings/Zones/Network/Wired/Turn Off DHCP/enter your zone’s IP address, subnet, router, and DNS.

We will update this story once new details on the matter emerge in the future.
