[Updated] Binance.US 'verification' or 'unable to withdraw funds' issues trouble many, company aware but no ETA for fix

Binance.US is a crypto exchange platform focused on the United States. It’s the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, and was founded in China in 2017.

For some time now, its users have been facing a ‘verification issue’ where they are unable to verify their accounts.

Binance.US requires some personal documents from its users for verification purposes. They get reviewed and the whole process takes a few days to complete after that.

The issue arises when Binance.US users try to get their accounts verified but the process takes many weeks or months and even after that they don’t get any response back (1,2,3,4,5).

Eventually, their account is blocked due to pending verification.

I originally asked for additional help getting verified since they wouldn’t take my street address. I think after the “we will escalate your issue” message that is sent to everyone has passed more than 10 Days, it’s fair to say that it is never going to happen.

Submitted verification literally over a year. Still pending.
Was able to still use the app but when I asked what happened to my verification, now everything is locked.

This means that user funds are completely locked during all that time, as they are unable to trade or withdraw while the account is locked.

Apparently, this issue is not exactly new. In fact, there are reports of users experiencing the same problem from many months ago (1,2,3,4).

As it turns out, Binance.US Customer Support has acknowledged the verification issue and said that they are working on it. However, they did not share any timeframe of when it will be fixed.

This situation has left many Binance.US users panicking and feeling helpless. We hope a solution to this problem arrives soon.

Until then, we will be keeping tabs on the matter and update this article as and when we come across more information so make sure you keep checking this space.
