Battlefield 2042 AM40 attachments not unlocking issue acknowledged; standard mag bug escalated for investigation

Battlefield 2042 recently upgraded to Season 2 and the update brought new weapons and the brand-new Stranded map. It also added an M95 Sniper Rifle to the Battlefield Portal.

The M95 Sniper Rifle was made available to play with the introduction of a hotfix which also guaranteed some other fixes.

However, it still left some issues unchecked. For instance, Battlefield 2042 attachments on some weapons have become unclaimable.

Battlefield 2042 AM40 attachments not unlocking

Battlefield 2042 players (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) are reporting an issue where they are unable to unlock AM40 attachments.

Am I the only one who have the bug that doesn’t unlock you the attachments of your weapon despite having the required kills ?

Anyone facing issue with unlocking AM40 Attachments lately? None of the Attachments are Unlocking. Any suggestions on Fix are welcome.

The issue has been troubling players for quite some time now where they are unable to unlock attachments of various weapons and ammo despite having enough kills.

The 30 round mag attachment appears locked even if players succeed at unlocking the AM40. There are also some cases when none of the attachments open.

Incorrect number of ammo in AM40 magazine

Apart from AM40 not unlocking, Battlefield 2042 players (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) are also facing an issue where the standard AM40 magazine isn’t showing the correct number of ammunition and weapons.

I unlocked the AM40, unlocked the standard 30 round mag, and then realized it somehow only loads 20 round in the match. Is this happening to anyone else?

The new am40 weapon has a bug where you put standard issue round in it and the mag is still 20 rounds instead of the 30 written in the description

The new AM40’s Assault Rifle standard round magazine indicates that the bullet capacity is 30 rounds but the game only shows 20 rounds. So, standard round magazine bullet count is clearly incorrect in the game as compared to its stats menu.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, EA has acknowledged the issue where Battlefield 2042 AM40 attachments are not unlocking and said that the team is working on a fix.

However, the team is yet to comment on the issue regarding incorrect number of ammo in AM40 magazine.

Sadly, there is also no workaround that can help fix both Battlefield 2042 ‘AM40 incorrect mag’ and ‘attachments not unlocking’ issues.
