BeReal is the new social media platform that has caught Gen Z’s attention. What differentiates this platform from other is that there are no filters available and every picture you share is in a dual camera format.

Everyone is also supposed to post at least once a day and at the same time. Due to this, users are notified at a random time throughout the day that it’s “time to Be Real.”

Also, users only have a two-minute window to take a picture of whatever they’re doing at that moment and send it, or it’s considered a late upload.

BeReal images not loading

That said, it seems that many BeReal app users are reporting performance issues that are affecting their experience (1,2,3,4,5,6,7).

Some of the users have complained that the BeReal app is taking too long to load images (between 3-5 minutes after opening the app) or that the images are not loading at all.

Others are also reporting an issue where they are not receiving notifications to post on the app or that they received the notification very late at night.

Due to these issues, many have missed their daily upload time and are unable to see the pictures sent by their friends.

I just got the app. I get the notification but it doesn’t show the pic, the most recent pic I am able to view was one from 23 hrs ago.

Some have tried the basic troubleshooting methods like uninstalling and reinstalling the app and logging out and into their account, but nothing seems to work.

These are the basic functions of BeReal and to see them malfunction at such a scale has left many users disappointed with the Social Media platform. We hope a fix is released soon.

Potential workaround

Meanwhile, there is a method that could potentially address the problem before the official fix arrives. Basically, you can try accessing the BeReal app with mobile data instead of WiFi:

There is no official acknowledgment of any of these issues. So, if the aforementioned workaround helped fix the issues, do let us know in the comments down below.

Also, we will be updating this space once the problem is resolved so stay tuned for more information.
