According to user reports on Reddit and Twitter, 4K Video Downloader keeps crashing while trying to download videos from YouTube specifically.

Some have confirmed that the program lets them download videos from Vimeo and Dailymotion without any hassle.

This has led many to believe that the issue isn’t with the 4K Video Downloader servers, and instead, could be caused by a change on YouTube’s end.

One individual alleges that this could be due to YouTube’s captcha verification that has recently started popping up a lot.

Same here. Looking at how it is, probably Youtube at it again. Recently getting a lot of captcha verification. (Source)

The developers of the program are yet to acknowledge the issue publicly. So it’s anyone’s guess as to how long the problem will last.

Of course, if the issue was caused due to an intentional tweak with YouTube, the developers will have to work around the change to fix the issue.

That said, we’ll keep track of the situation and will post an update if and when there are any further developments.
