Fortnite Mobile is the mobile and tablets version of the successful battle royale game from Epic Games.

Fortnite Mobile seeks to offer almost the same experience as the original game, but adapting it to touch screens.

To adapt to different types of hardware, Fortnite Mobile also offers various graphical settings. Players can tweak things like detail level and FPS rate.

Recently, Fortnite Mobile received a hotfix after which the 90 FPS and 45 FPS options went missing from graphical settings. However, this has an explanation (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14).

According to multiple reports, the latest Fortnite Mobile hotfix brought performance issues and the loss of additional FPS options (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

There’s no 45 to 90 fps for Android player before this shit happens only 30 which never stays 30 fps move the camera fps drops to 8 fps sometimes some game you made for high end snapdragon 888 phones

No 45 fps or 90 fps on my OnePlus 8?!?!

Is this getting fixed anytime soon? Im not even getting 25 fps on my OnePlus 8 that normally gets 90 fps easily! Their is no tweet explaining anything on Fortnite Status twitter! Communicate with the mobile community!!

Performance issues manifest themselves primarily in heavy FPS drops during matches.

So today when i started fortnite the game randomly started optimizing content it didn’t do it after the last few updates but did it today and instead of making my performance good now i have so many issues with fps i only get 15-20 right after jumping from the battle bus before it was 40-50 and i m having so many fps drops i m running my fps will drop, I m shooting someone my fps will drop, I m building my fps will drop, I use my pickaxe my fps will drop.

Here is the official word from Epic Games

The Epic Games team shed more light on the performance issues. They claim it’s all due to Fortnite Mobile compatibility conflicts with recent GPU drivers on multiple devices.

The company is currently working with partners to resolve the issue. However, there is no ETA for it yet.

Due to some GPUs having compatibility issues with recent driver updates, Android players may experience decreased performance or no longer see options for 45fps or 90fps graphic settings.

We are actively working with our partners and will provide an update when one is available. Updating your Android OS and drivers as updates become available may help in the interim.

Also, an Epic Games Community Coordinator added that the loss of the Fortnite Mobile 90 FPS and 45 FPS settings is due to the game being currently in a ‘compatibility mode’.

Update 1 (August 15)

11:17 am (IST): Fortnite support on Twitter has confirmed that the devices with Adreno 660 or higher will have an option to run Fortnite at 90 FPS. Moreover, devices for which the option was missing will also have it re-enabled.

📱 Hey android players! In next week’s update, devices with an Adreno 660 or better will have the option to run Fortnite at 90 FPS. Devices that previously had 90 FPS will also have it reenabled. If your device is compatible you’ll find the setting available once you’ve updated. (Source)
