American car-sharing company, Zipcar, allows automobile reservations by its members at an affordable price.
However, Zipcar members are reporting a serious issue with the website and app. The Zipcar app that lets members unlock the car is currently facing some technical problems.
Owing to these issues, Zipcar members (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) are unable to make car reservations, log in or even unlock the cars that were pre-booked.
We’ve added a few reports about the problem below for reference:
This is stupid. I’m in a zipcar right now and can’t even start the damn thing. I’m stuck away from its home location and I’m stranded thanks to this outage…. you need to fix my issue asap! How am I suppose to start this car if the system says I’m suppose to be in a different 1!

My entire Zipcar trip has been rendered useless because I can’t lock the vehicle. I have missed important meetings and appointments because of this Zipcar error — completely unacceptable. Zipcar is not reliable; I expect refund and compensation.

The issue with Zipcar not working has left many people aghast, stranded and locked out of their rental cars. Some can’t even gain access to their personal belongings that they left inside the car.
Fortunately, the Zipcar team has acknowledged the issue calling it a technical problem with the website as well as the app and is currently working on a fix.
Meanwhile, the team has also suggested that its members can bring their Zipcard (if they have one) in case of reservations.
We hope that the issue gets fixed soon so that users can access Zipcar’s reservation and rental services again.
That said, we’ll keep tabs on the issue and update the article as and when something noteworthy comes up.
