New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on August 11, 2022) follows:

There have been numerous adaptions of J.K. Rowling’s best selling novel Harry Potter. One such adaptation is the role-playing video game, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

It was developed and published by Jam City in 2018. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players can attend classes, learn spells, go on quests and so on.

But in the last few hours, many Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) are reporting an issue concerning Facebook outage. Gamers are unable to log in using Facebook.

This issue has left many players baffled as they are no longer able to play the game. We’ve added a few reports below for reference:

The Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Facebook log in issue has also left some gamers unable to comment on the Harry Potter main page.

The game is also serving an error message to others that says ‘the App is not accessible right now‘.

Official acknowledgment and potential workaround

Fortunately, the Hogwarts Mystery team is aware of the issue and working towards resolving the outage with Facebook as soon as possible.

The team is also working towards making an enjoyable experience for all based on the feedback and concerns of the affected players.

That said, you can try a workaround to temporarily fix the issue. It involves uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Nevertheless, we’ll keep tabs on the developments regarding the issue and update the article accordingly.

Update 1 (August 12)

06:20 pm (IST): One user pointed out that this wouldn’t be an issue if the game didn’t rely on online saves. An option to save locally would prevent issues like this from affecting gameplay in the future.

Also the fact that it’s not saving locally. The entire game save shouldn’t be contingent on cloud login (Source)

Of course, it’s highly unlikely that the developers would consider providing a ‘save locally’ option in the game.

Update 2 (August 15)

10:53 am (IST): The support team on Twitter has confirmed that the issue with Facebook logins has now been resolved.

The issue with Facebook logins has been resolved! Access to Facebook connection and saved games has been restored. As a thank you for your patience, we’ll be sending all players an in-app gift next week! (Source)

Update 3 (July 6, 2023)

01:32 pm (IST): According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), multiple Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players are once again facing issues with their Facebook login.

The support team has asked those impacted to create a support ticket.
