Nanoleaf is a technology and IoT company that manufactures unique lighting panels that are operated using Wi-Fi. These panels come in different colors and sizes that can be easily mounted on walls to form various shapes.

Nanoleaf also has its own app that is available on Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac. It allows users to design, set up, manage and control all the Nanoleaf lights in one place.

Nanoleaf lights not pairing or showing ‘Unreachable’ error message

However, lately, some users have been reporting (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) an issue where Nanoleaf lights or shapes are not pairing with the app. Users say that the app display ‘Unreachable’ message even when the lights are on.

I cannot pair my Nanoleaf light panels to the desktop app. I could pair them on an older version of the software, but now it gets stuck when I input the wifi password. Are there any fixes for this because it is stopping me from using my panels. (Source)

So i have bought nanoleaf remote, but when i try to pair in on samsung phone and i press the button start pairing, the button disapears and nothing happens, i used another samsung phone and the same thing happened. Help. (Source)

The issue is primarily affecting Android and desktop app users. However, we have also come across some reports from iOS users.

Luckily, those affected have managed to find some workarounds that might help you resolve this bug. You can check them out below.

Workaround 1:

EDIT: I managed to fix it now. How I resolved it:

– Update from Android 9 to 10

– Change my wifi to a completely new SSID

– Separate the 2.4GHZ SSID from the 5GHz

– Reinstall nanoleaf app and pair again (Source)

Workaround 2:

While the issue is also affecting the iOS app, a user claims that he was able to pair the lights by switching the platform from Android to iOS. So, you can try changing the platform and see if the pairing issue gets fixed.

Responding to users’ complaints regarding this issue, Nanoleaf support said that users should try soft resetting the device.

We hope that the devs fix this issue soon since users are unable to control their Nanoleaf lighting from the app. That said, we will update this story as and when we come across anything noteworthy.
