Original story (published on July 1, 2022) follows:

Ever since it was founded in 2006, Spotify has taken the world by storm. Used by millions worldwide, it is the largest player in the music streaming industry accounting for over 31% of the total market share.

But despite Spotify having a huge lead over its competition, the platform seems to be losing its edge with services like Apple Music, Deezer, and Amazon Music stepping up their game.

However, subscribers have complained issues like the Discover Weekly recommendations not updating and Spotify not playing specific songs when using Google Assistant in the last few weeks.

And now, many Spotify users on Android are complaining that the app is not loading or getting stuck on a black loading screen. This is making it impossible for many to listen to their favorite music.

Unfortunately, generic troubleshooting solutions like reinstalling the app, clearing data and cache, and even downgrading to an older version aren’t helping.

I tried changing my download storage from internal to the sd card. But then spotify restarted and only stayed on a black loading screen with the logo. I tried restarting my phone, reinstalling the app (with and without the sd card inserted in my phone), downloading an older version and doing a clean install but nothing worked. Every time I try to open the app, I just get a black screen with the logo and nothing happens until my phone turns off. Spotify still works on my PC and my phone has enough storage.
