Formerly known as Google AdWords, Google Ads is the primary source of income for Alphabet Inc. In 2020, it generated over $147 billion and accounted for more than 80% of the company’s total revenue.

But as is the case with every online platform, users have complained about problems like video discovery ads not running for some YouTubers.

Having said that, many Google Ads users are now reporting that their accounts are getting suspended due to suspicious payment activity.

Ad Account Suspended For Suspicious Payments – 22 Business Days And No Help! It’s my credit card! I keep filing appeals and no one helps. I call the support team and try live chat but I get spun in circles. Their customer service is disgusting, people need to run their businesses and feed their families, but they offer no support.

I didn’t do anything fraudulent, it’s a new account and I put in my credit card info. Went to run my first ad and saw that my account was suspended. Google is awful, they haven’t been helpful AT ALL and it’s disgusting the way they treat their customers. I spend tens of thousands of dollars a month through other accounts, and this is how I’m treated. With 0 support.

While some of these might be due to legit reasons, many say their Google Ads account is getting suspended for suspicious payment right after they signed up for the platform.

Hi Everyone – Created a new google ads account to market for my business. Created ads for call-only to generate calls direct to my business. Nothing too fancy, just marketing to people shopping to save on their insurance. Added my credit card and hit submit. Two minutes later the account was suspended.

Earlier this year, a Twitter user faced the same problem and said they were able to resolve the problem by creating a ticket with Google support.

To fix the Google Ads suspended account issue, you can try removing the existing card and adding a new one. Verify that the new card has the same name as your Ads account.

If you are trying to change the payment method, make sure it is not linked to any subscriptions and services as you will not be able to remove it.

Alternatively, you can submit an appeal to Google stating your account was wrongly suspended. But before doing so, make sure all your information is correct and add a backup payment option in case things go wrong.

Make sure you clearly mention in your case that the suspension was an error and clarify what card you are using and why you think this is the best way to pay.

Please note that if you make any new accounts during the process Google will suspend them as well.
