We understand service outages or breakage are pretty common. But when an outage ends up concerning a massive user base, it becomes worth highlighting. Something similar is happening with the banking app Revolut, as of writing this.

For past some time, a proliferation of reports saying the service is down, and one can’t login are populating the online discussion platform Twitter. Users are reportedly asked to enter their registered mobile number again on accessing the app. Here’s what some of the users get to see:

While reports continue to snowball, there’s yet to come an official word from the service providers. Worry not, we’re keeping a close watch on the service providers social media channels for more information on what could be causing this problem.

Update 1 (Sept 23)

Good news. Revolut app has officially acknowledged the issue through their Twitter handle saying they’re aware of the problem and also working on resolving the same.

Hello, there! We’re aware of this ongoing issue, which has been causing you some troubles when using the Revolut app. Please be assured we are working hard on a fix.

Update 2 (August 13, 2021)

The Revolut app is now crashing or displaying ‘Something has gone wrong’ error when trying to access the account, as per several new complaints. A fix is in the works though.

Update 03 (February 03, 2022)

05:25 pm (IST): Revolut app users are now reporting that the app is down or not working for them. As a result, they aren’t able to use any service within the app.

@RevolutApp Money has disappeared from my Vault… I had the money in there yesterday evening and this morning I am missing €600. Where is this gone? (Source)

Some users say that they are unable to transfer money or can’t add money to the account, while for some, money is missing from the Vault.

Fortunately, it didn’t take too long for the support team to acknowledge this issue. They said that the team has identified the issue and is working to resolve it.

Update 04 (July 19, 2022)

06:36 pm (IST): Many Revolut users are facing a crashing issue after the latest 8.63 app update (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). Revolut team acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix.

Update 05 (November 29, 2022)

03:34 pm (IST): Fresh reports on Twitter suggest that Revolut app is again down or not working for some. Users say that they are unable to login into the app.

Luckily, the support team has acknowledged the issue and they are currently working on a fix.

01:20 pm (IST): The recent issue with the Revolut app appears to have been resolved as we don’t see any fresh reports.
