[Updated] Amazon Freevee 'error code 2055' troubles many, issue under investigation

Formerly known as IMDb TV, Amazon Freevee is a free video streaming service that lets users watch TV series and movies without a subscription. The platform generates revenue by showing users advertisements.

And as is the case with Prime Video, Amazon’s X-Ray feature is also available on Freevee. Currently, it is only available in some parts of the United States.

However, in the last few weeks, many Amazon Freevee users are reportedly getting error code 2055. The error code seems to be popping up randomly and is making it impossible for subscribers to watch their favorite movies and TV shows.

It is interesting to note that many of those affected are using Xfinity Internet and TV services. Common troubleshooting solutions like restarting the device and reinstalling the app aren’t helping either.

@Xfinity @XfinitySupport need 2 remove the @AmazonFreevee App from the option 4 customers. I am up late watching “movies on demand” ALL movies w/FreeVee as an option r giving 2055 “encountered problem while loading page” error message. U guys can’t seem 2 fix issue, so remove it

Freevee Error 2055. I have rebooted both the tv and computer. I have deleted the watch history. I’ve followed all the suggestions and still no Freevee available for several days now. And I was right in the middle of a show! When will Freevee work again?

Thankfully, Amazon Staff shed some light on the matter and said the developers are investigating the issue where Freevee users are getting error code 2055.

However, there is no timeframe of when the problem will be resolved.

12:31 pm (IST): One of those affected reported that the issue with ‘error code 2055’ has now been resolved. Also, we haven’t come across any fresh reports regarding it.
