Founded in 2010, Instagram is a social media platform where users can share photos and videos with others. People have the option of who they choose to share their posts with.

Used by more than 1.21 billion people every month, it makes up for more than 28% of total internet users on the planet.

While Instagram is still growing in terms of userbase, users have faced problems like DMs not working or stuck on delivering and the ‘Explore Page’ resetting or showing nature images in the last couple of days.

Adding to the trouble, Instagram users are now reporting their recent posts are not appearing in the hashtags associated with the post (1,2,3,4,5).

This is really a big problem for those trying to increase their reach on the platform. Many tried logging out and back into their account, reinstalling the app and installing an older version but to no avail.

Posts being removed from hashtags? Hey everyone, so at the end of May I created an account dedicated to scotch whisky, which I have an interest in. I used some hashtags to hopefully grow a little, and all seemed to be working fine. Flash forward to a couple weeks ago, and my posts suddenly were getting basically no interactions.

Through a brief “investigation” I discovered that, when I click on a hashtag I used, my post isn’t showing up in the “Recent” posts under that hashtag. This applies to all the hashtags I use. I’ve heard of broken hashtags, but all of the ones I’m using have recent posts so they’re clearly working. The only thing I can think of is Instagram might think I’m a spam account? Is there any way to fix this or get the hashtags working again? Thanks!

It is interesting to note that the issue surfaced a month ago, which happens to be in the same time period when users complained of poor engagements.

While it is still unclear if the two problems are related, the two might be interlinked after all. We hope Instagram developers take a look at the matter and fix it as soon as they can.

Rest assured, we will be keeping an eye out for further information on the issue and update this space when we have more to share so stay tuned.
