Instagram 'Explore Page' resetting or showing nature images? Try these potential fixes
Here’s the crux of the article in video form:
With more than 1.4 billion users worldwide, Instagram is the fourth most popular social media network on the planet and the fifth most visited website on the internet.
Last year, it generated $47.6 billion in revenue, accounting for almost 50% of Facebook’s total revenue.
According to those affected, the platform ignores all content preferences and suddenly starts showing generic content like you would see on a fresh account.
With some reports dating back months, it looks like the problem has been affecting users for quite some time now.
Why is the algorithm so bad?? I don’t even know how I keep using that app. The algorithm was already bad but it’s gotten worse. A good chunk of my explore page is hyper-specific stuff I’m not terribly interested in and (gross warning) they show me a video of a cow pooping every time even tho I have NEVER clicked on it. And they show me the Instagram girls even tho I’m a straight female and have never looked any of those accounts up.
My insta explore page seems to have reset?? Pretty much when I went onto Instagram my explore page for some reason just started showing me nature pics and photography and stuff like that which I never had before, is this happening to anyone else and does anyone know how to fix it?
While Instagram is yet to officially comment on the matter, we stumbled across a few workarounds that might help fix the Explore page resetting issue.
The first one requires users to head over to the Explore page and refresh it by pulling from the top of the page a couple of times like you would refresh your feed (five to six times).
If this did not fix the problem, try restarting the app since it usually fixes the problem.
We hope Instagram developers soon find out the root cause of the issue and resolve it in the coming days. As always, we will be keeping tabs on the matter and let you know when we have more information to share so stay tuned.
