Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services on the planet. Operating on a freemium model, the company has a market cap of $23.88 billion.

But in the last couple of months, users have been facing different types of bugs and glitches such as download audio quality options missing on iOS and the Windows app crashing at login and during playback.

Adding to the trouble, Amazon Alexa users are now reporting a new problem where songs from Spotify are not playing (1,2,3,4,5).

Many are frustrated and wondering why they are unable to listen to their favorite music all of a sudden.

Down detector – a popular service that gives information about live outages – conveys that Spotify is indeed going through problems as can be seen in the image below:

I keep asking my echo dot to skip the song, it it just flashes blue and chimes then stops responding, not skipping the song. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, disconnected my Spotify account, disconnected my whole echo dot from my account and repaired it, nothing. Can anyone help?

I am having the same problem with my five Amazon devices no longer syncing to @Spotify this just happened today I have reset all of the devices and check the app where it says there’s a problem syncing to spotify. Your link offers no help.

Thankfully, Amazon Help was quick to comment on the matter and said the developers are aware of the issue where Alexa is not playing songs from Spotify.

They also said that a fix is already underway and that the problem might be resolved a few hours from now.

05:16 pm (IST): It appears that the issue where Alexa devices are not playing songs from Spotify has been resolved as we haven’t come across any fresh user reports on Twitter.
