Smart TVs are among the most popular IoT products. Today, they are a fundamental part of the Smart Home set of many users.

LG is one of the most recognized brands in the Smart TV segment. Like other IoT devices, LG Smart TVs offer support for different home automation standards and platforms.

One of the main home automation platforms is HomeKit, which allows the integration of Apple IoT products in the user Smart Home.

However, it seems that many LG TV users are facing an issue where HomeKit platform goes offline (No response) when is turned off or outside local network.

HomeKit goes ‘offline’ or ‘non responsive’ on LG TV when turned off or outside local network

Through HomeKit, users of compatible devices can remotely control all their Smart Home products connected to the same network.

But, according to multiple reports, currently LG TV users are unable to control them properly due to integration issues. Apparently, the LG TV will be displayed as ‘offline’ or ‘Non Responsive’ on the network.

It’s worth pointing out that there are a few other IoT devices affected by the issue (such as the Logitech Circleview Doorbell and Xiaomi Bedside Lamp).

Devices no response on iPad

Hello, I’ve been using homekit since few months and its flawless until now, I recently upgraded my iPad and only two devices on that always show as No response, no matter how many times I add them and restart them, I also use homekit app on macbook pro and those devices show on that perfectly fine. Before buying new iPad, it was fine on my older iPad. Is there something I am missing on new iPad? The devices that are indicated as No response are LG CX OLED TV. Please help, thanks in advance.

Weird Non Responsive Devices Pattern

I have maybe 25 smart devices, mostly lights, a couple TVs etc. I also have a 3 node Linksys mesh system. My Logitech Circleview Doorbell and my LG TV for some reason keep showing up as Not Responsive. The tv will randomly fix itself at times, always be available when on, but when off it’ll say Non responsive maybe half the time. The doorbell is even weirder, it will just randomly stop being able to come back online when detecting people and won’t fix until I unplug and plug back in, which fixes every time.

However, when it comes to Smart TV, LG seems to be the main affected.

Potential workaround

There is still no official acknowledgment on the issue from the LG team yet. But, there is a potential workaround you can try to solve the problem.

The process to follow is shown below:
