[Update: Stuck on black screen] Valorant players complain about getting stuck on loading screen, no fix in sight

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on April 30, 2022) follows:

Inspired by Counter-Strike and Overwatch, Valorant is a first-person shooting game developed and published by Riot Games, the same studio that brought us League of Legends.

Officially released in June of 2020, it borrows several mechanics from other games such as spray patterns and the buy menu. As of February 2022, Valorant had somewhere around 13 million monthly active players.

But as is the case with every online title, players often face issues such as new Sova animations interfering with his skill and long queue times after the 4.05 patch.

And according to recent reports from Valorant players, many say they are stuck on the loading screen whenever they try to join a match (1,2,3,4,5). Some say they are getting penalized for queue dodging and abandoning the match.

Generic troubleshooting solutions such as restarting the game, running as an administrator, and reinstalling are making no difference.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I’ve been having a problem recently where I get stuck on the loading screen while trying to join a game. It’s been happening ever since I upgraded my computer, I’ve tried deleting and re-downloading, and I tried running as administrator and nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

This is my first post ever, but i think you guys know a thing or two about this game… So my loading times have been pretty long and it turns out while im still in the loading screen im actually waiting to pick an agent but i can only see and hear the loading screen. Then i have like half a second to pick an agent and the lady yells at me. If i fail to react (or sometimes it doesn’t even give me the chance) i keep accidentally Que dodging. Then in turn i get a timer that increases in time each time. Idk what to do, idk if this is just a me problem but im posting it here

Unfortunately, we were unable to come across any official word from Valorant developers (Riot Games) about the issue where players are stuck on the loading screen.

We hope they soon shed some light on the matter and fix the problem as soon as possible since it is making the game unplayable for many.

When they do, we will be updating this space to let you know so make sure you stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.

Update 1 (June 17)

09:39 am (IST): Many players are now reporting (1, 2) an issue where the screen goes black when they try to load Valorant. Moreover, a player has come up with a workaround that might help you fix this glitch.

Here are some reports for reference.

@PlayVALORANT I’m currently having a problem with loading into valorant, I can’t open the game and when I do it doesn’t open the game it just is stuck with a black screen, when I rarely get into the game it causes me to lag a lot to the point I can’t do anything its a gui bug. (Source)

Anyone else’s @PlayVALORANT not working? It gives me a black screen and never loads in?? #VALORANT (Source)

Anyone else’s Valorant black screen every time they try to load it up? @PlayVALORANT (Source)

However, there is no word from the support team on this matter yet and we will inform you as and when anything noteworthy comes up. Until then you can try the following workaround:
