New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on June 13, 2022) follows:

For some time now, Hulu has been one of the cheapest streaming services available. Owned by the Walt Disney Company, it has more than 45.6 million paid subscribers.

However, in the last few months, users have been complaining about issues such as the app not working on DirecTV Stream Box and Adult Swim label being added to regular shows and cartoons.

Hulu

The streaming service caters to all users with plans starting at $6.99 per month and the priciest package fixed at $75.99 and is available on a multitude of devices including the Nintendo Switch.

However, Nintendo Switch owners are now reporting that the Hulu app is not working or playing videos (1,2,3,4,5). The problem seems to be making it impossible for those affected to watch their favorite TV shows.

Some say they are getting a ‘We’re having trouble playing this’ error message. Common troubleshooting solutions such as reinstalling the app and signing out and back into Hulu account aren’t helping either.

It’s on our Nintendo switch I’ll go to play any show or movie and it’ll play an ad like normal but then when it’s time for the show I get a playback error. Switch/ Hulu app are up to date, the app and switch have been closed/shut off multiple times. Account works on other devices

It’s wild how @Hulu can be fully unable to play videos on my Switch for the past few days, yet the advertisements all still load just fine. Imagine a world where the streaming media we pay to watch loads at the speed, quality, and reliability of ads. *Wistful sigh*
