I recently started testing out the all new iOS 16 developer beta. This version of the operating system brings a whole lot of features including a re-designed and fully customizable lock screen.
With iOS 16, you can customize your iPhone lock screen to look exactly the way you like. I am pleasantly surprised by these new features because iOS has never been a customization-friendly operating system.
To get started, all you need to do is long press on the lock screen and then click on the plus icon at the bottom-right of your screen.
This will take you to the lock screen customization page. Here, you can either choose from Apple’s pre-designed templates or create your own designs.
Creating your own style:
At the top of the page, you can choose if you want the background to be a picture of a specific person, a photo, a photo shuffle, emojis, weather or a specific color.
The time widget:
Once you have chosen your background, click on the time widget to change its font, color and language.
The date widget:
You can even customize the date widget on top and choose whatever information you want it to display. I use this area to show my daily reminders.
More widgets :))
The area below the time widget is fully customizable and you can add multiple widgets here according to your preference. In my opinion, this is a great place to put battery information of all your connected devices.
This is how you can customize your iPhone lock screen and personalise it on iOS 16. I am pretty sure Apple will add even more options to this as we move closer to the global release.
