EA recently released the mobile version of their famous Battle Royale title, Apex Legends. The mobile version is the same as the original game but the controls are optimized for a smaller screen.
Launched in May this year, the mobile version is developed by LightSpeed Studios. However, since its release, the game has been plagued by several bugs and glitches.
It looks like Apex Legends Mobile is following in the footsteps of its desktop and console counterparts.
In the last few weeks, many have complained about being unable to use the Razer Kishi controller on Android while others were troubled by the ADS bug where screen was getting stuck while aiming.
That said, Apex Legends Mobile is experiencing a directional sound or audio glitch. Many cannot understand the direction of the audio while others say they are hearing gunshots near them even with no enemies.
The issue is obviously frustrating since audio is one of the most important cues in a shooting game. Players have tried changing earphones and headphones, using equalizers, and reinstalling the game but nothing helps.
Here are some reports from affected Apex Legends Mobile players regarding the directional audio issues (1,2,3,4,5).
Guys, I have a hard time pinpointing gunfire/footsteps with earphones. What should I do? I heard gunfire/footsteps sometimes, but cannot really calculate roughly where the enemies are. Any tips for sound, so that I can improve? P.S. As a result, I actually tend to perform better without earphones lol. I am using good quality earphones.

Ever since I started playing apex legends mobile, there has been audio bugs with unknown shooting sounds across the playing field. Many content creators have been discussing this as well and I was wondering when this will be fixed.

Unfortunately, we did not come across any official word from Apex Legends Mobile developers on the directional audio problem.
Let us hope they soon acknowledge the issue and release a fix as quickly as possible. As always, we will be updating this article when we come across more information so make sure you keep checking this space.
