In a world full of Battle Royale titles, there are a handful of titles that are able to retain their player base. Similar to PUBG, Call of Duty Warzone is one of those games.

Developed by Raven Software, Warzone is one of the best multiplayer FPS shooters available. Following its commercial success, Activision recently announced that Warzone 2 will be coming out sometime in 2023.

But despite its popularity, players have faced several technical bugs and glitches such as Champions of Caldera stats not tracking and gas mask animation causing some to lose gunfights.

Having said that, COD: Warzone players are now reporting an issue with muffled or no audio when playing Champions of Caldera game mode (1,2,3,4,5).

Some say the audio gets muffled when in a gunfight while others say the issue pops up whenever they take damage and heal. It is interesting to note that other game modes are not affected by the problem.

Players have tried restarting the game and their system and reinstalling it but to no avail. Here are some reports from COD: Warzone players complaining about muffled audio when playing Champions of Caldera.

Champion of Caldera Sounds Issues? I looked and didn’t see anything posted yet…I was watching Stone Mountain and he complained about sounding like he was underwater after engagements. Well it’s happening to me too. I think the workaround is to pop a dead silence yet what a pain to find one sometimes. Anyone else having this issue?

I drop off somewhere i find suitable to my preference and what do you know? Someone lands on me too, i quickly maneuver between cover and BOOM… I killed him.. Satisfying as ever to kill someone in this game using NON Meta weapons.. But something isn’t right… My audio… Im.. IM DEAF. Im like oh it’s okay but god i was so wrong. I die and spawn back in and say dw this time it’s gonna be different.. Absolutely not. Get another kill and audio dies.. Game after game my audio disappears after ONE kill. The game mode just came out and there’s ALREADY a bug.

As it turns out, COD: Warzone developers are yet to comment on the muffled Champions of Caldera audio issue.

Thankfully, we came across a potential workaround that might help fix the problem. It requires players to do damage to their base health by tossing an explosive.

Apparently it’s a bug from quick fix that gets you stuck in low health audio if you win a gunfight. His solution was to toss a Semtex and damage yourself with it and your audio will fix itself after you heal. The key is to do damage to your base health not just plates.
