New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 24, 2022) follows:

Set to be released sometime later this year, Android 13 is the latest operating system by Google. Owners of eligible Pixel phones can try out what the newest version has to offer by enrolling their device in the beta program.

While Android 13 brings in several new features and improves upon existing ones, the operating system is expected to have bugs since it is still in beta.

That said, those who updated their devices to try Android 13 Beta have complained about issues such as laggy animations and stuttering while scrolling and home screen icons and widgets disappearing after unlocking the device.

Adding to the trouble, Android 13 Beta 2 users are now reporting that the voicemail function is missing or not available (1,2,3,4,5).

Many say they have already tried common troubleshooting solutions such as clearing the phone app cache, restarting their device, and factory resetting the phone but to no avail.

Here are some reports from Android 13 Beta 2 users complaining about the missing voicemail functionality.

I have a pixel 6 pro phone that I updated to Android 13 beta 2. After I did this, I noticed that the voicemail function on my phone no longer was an option. I did all the usual things like clear cachet and clear storage as well as a factory reset– and none of these helped. The only way I could fix this was by unrolling from Android 13 beta and going back to the latest version of a stable Android 12 and this once again did recover my voicemail function.

I noticed today after setting up my phone that the visual voicemail tab is missing from the phone app itself. *I should note that I am using version 81.0.444124797-publicbeta-pixel2021 version of the Google Phone app. I am with T-Mobile and have been using this tab since I got this phone and since the move to Beta 2 it’s gone. I can use the voicemail app from T-Mobile but it’s strange that it’s now missing. I’ve tried wiping/clearing all data of the phone app and that doesn’t fix it. I will also submit a bug if ya’ll think I should?

As it turns out, the issue has been escalated to the development team for further investigation. However, since Android 13 is still in beta, it is still unclear if and when the problem will be fixed.

We have passed this to the development team and will update this issue with more information as it becomes available.
