COD: Warzone players say 'CR-56 AMAX' rifle nerf was unnecessary

COD: Warzone is one of the most popular battle-royal games today. Its developers provide constant support to the game to keep the players interested.

Like other multiplayer shooters, COD: Warzone often receives balance updates that modify the stats of items and weapons.

However, sometimes balance changes are not well received by all players. For instance, Raven Software recently decided to nerf the CR-56 AMAX assault rifle.

But, this decision took many COD: Warzone players by surprise, who considered it unnecessary to nerf the ‘CR-56 AMAX’ rifle (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

Multiple reports reflect how unhappy Warzone players are with the decision to nerf the AMAX rifle. Also, the nerf was pretty harsh, as the damage the weapon can deal is now noticeably less (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

The decision especially affects players who used the AMAX as their weapon of choice. Some even spent real money on skins and bundles for the rifle.

They nerfed the amax harder than the kilo yet didn’t touch the stg

I bought an amax bundle last week and now I’m just not allowed to use it anymore because it shoots absolute marshmallows compared all other ars, they keep nerfing mw and cw guns and making the experience that much worse for the people who put money and time into the games that started this whole thing.

Man I just bought that amax/mp5 shadow skin pack. Other than looking cool, I chose it because I thought the amax would be safe from nerfs.

Lesson learned. Won’t happen again. Thanks making it an easy choice.

Some players suspect that Raven Software is intentionally nerfing non-COD: Vanguard weapons. The company would presumably do this to boost the sale of Vanguard bundles and packs.

at this point, im convinced they’re intentionally nerfing the modern wafare & cold war guns to make the vanguard ones meta to drive sales/bundles.

@RavenSoftware Thanks for the Warzone update, what was the reasoning behind the Amax nerf? My son says it’s because you all want to force people into getting Vanguard, is that true?
