[Updated] Lost Ark auto-dismantle not working as intended or broken, issue escalated for investigation (workarounds inside)

Lost Ark is a Smilegate medieval fantasy MMO game. Although it was initially exclusive to South Korea, Amazon Games became interested in its potential and brought it to the global market.

Lost Ark boasts a huge world with many things to do with your friends or alone. There is exploration, dungeons, battles, loot, trade, and more.

The game also often receives updates with new content. For instance, a recent update brought the new ‘auto-dismantle’ feature.

However, it appears that the Lost Ark auto-dismantle feature is currently not working properly. Multiple reports reveal that there is a lot of confusion about how the new option works (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).

‘Auto-dismantle’ is a Lost Ark feature that seeks to speed up experience while looting items. Basically, it allows you to set multiple parameters to automatically dismantle items of little importance or value.

Auto-dismantle should improve a process that normally involves manually dismantling unwanted items. However, it seems that the feature is currently not very reliable.

According to reports, the operation of ‘auto-dismantle’ is cryptic or confusing. Many players don’t quite understand how auto-dismantle settings work due to poor implementation.

But, it is not just a problem of lack of understanding. It seems that some settings don’t even work as they should.

I don’t trust auto-dismantle. It might be broken

I have set everything correctly to what I wanted to have. Most importantly I only had Domination Endurance and Expertise ticked as I didn’t care about any gear with those stats while Crit spec and Swift were unchecked. Then after doing 1 chaos dungeon run I noticed that every single accessory got dismantled and I had it hard to believe that I got 0 crit/spec/swift ones.

So I had inventory opened as I was clearing my 2nd chaos run and once accessory dropped I quickly hovered over it to see the stats. And what I saw was several crit/spec accessories getting dismantled in front of my eye despite not having it ticked.

I will not be using it as I don’t understand how it works and its a risk that it might not even work properly as I heard from few streamers that it might be broken and you shouldn’t use it.

The Smilegate team is already aware of the issue, according to a Lost Ark support forums moderator.

However, there is a workaround for those players facing issues with the feature. Lost Ark players have found a couple of ideal auto-dismantle settings on their own.

The first few settings are for players who want to keep the looting of level 1-4 tripods:
