Dead by Daylight is a unique asymmetric online multiplayer horror game developed and published by Behaviour Interactive. It was released in 2016 and has millions of players worldwide.

Players can play the game either as a survivor or an unstoppable killer. With each level procedurally generated and spawn points randomized, every round is different from the previous one.

However, in the last few months, players have encountered problems such as getting penalized or banned due to automatic disconnection issue and Nightfall being brighter than intended.

And now, Dead by Daylight players are facing an issue with the flashlight. Many say the flashlight always keeps pointing at the ground (1,2,3,4,5).

Solutions such as verifying files on Steam and restarting the game aren’t helping either. Below are some reports from Dead by Daylight players who say the flashlight always keeps pointing at the ground.

FLASHLIGHT BUG? Hello, any other PS4 players experiencing flashlight malfunctions? Whenever I try to use a standard or utility flashlight with ad ons the beam points down to the ground instead of up where I instruct it to point. I saw some discussion about this last year but it seems to still be an issue now. Thanks!

I was on the new Haddonfeild and couldn’t blind the killer because my flashlight stayed down pointing at the ground, using its charges. (I haven’t played on any other map due to the increased chance and people constantly bringing the offering for Haddonfeild)

Many are wondering if it is worth using the flashlight. As it turns out, it is a visual bug with some players saying they were getting blinded even though the flashlight kept focusing on the ground.

Unfortunately, we are yet to come across official word on the matter. However, we did come across a workaround that seems to be temporarily fixing the problem. It requires the players to drop the flashlight and pick it up again.

If you’re having problems where your flashlight points at the ground just drop it and pick it back up. Make sure u check it at the beginning of the match so you’re not caught with your pants down. Hope they fix this soon.

Rest assured, we will be updating this space once Dead by Deadlight developers release an update that fixes the flashlight issue.
