New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…

Original story (published on June 11, 2021) follows:

COD Warzone recently published an update regarding anti-cheat programs on their official blog re-iterating that they have zero tolerance for cheaters across the game.

The game’s banhammer went down on over 300,000 hackers worldwide. COD also said that they’re working on identifying cheat providers at the source level and addressing them.

Along with that, the COD Warzone team has taken a number of steps including weekly backend security updates, improvements to in-game reporting mechanisms, the addition of 2FA, and elimination of unauthorized third-party software providers.

But despite all these unceasing efforts from dedicated teams and resources, Warzone undeniably continues to be an extremely hacker-infested gaming environment.

This is because hackers continue to find new loopholes and exploits even after the old one gets patched. It is an endless and tireless process.

However, COD Warzone isn’t the only one dealing with a hacking problem. You see, when it comes to online free-to-play games like these, there are no barriers to entry.

If an account gets banned, one can simply create a new one and start afresh with the hacks with little to no losses.

But at the end of the day, it’s the regular players who keep things fair and square that are the true losers to hackers. After all, there isn’t really much that can be done other than reporting the account or ranting on the forums.

The plight of regular gamers is particularly highlighted by the following Reddit post about a hacker that not only does the evil deed but also streams it on Twitch for all to see.

Several other posts have implied that hacking has somehow gotten far more frequent than ever before, to the point of making the game barely playable.

That’s it I’m done playing this game. I hopped on with the squad last night and in 6 games we died to a hacker about 4 times we even ran into the new hip fire magnet billet back. So we were like okay whatever shitty night and then we hopped on resurgence and ran into two back-to-back games of garbage players running aimbot and walls.

I’ve stopped playing the game altogether unless it’s with my friends. The hacking just gets worse and the ban waves don’t do anything, I don’t know why they pretend it does. I seriously have lost all fun playing this and lately my friend and I can’t even get to top 10 and we used to win 1st pretty frequently.

As already mentioned, COD Warzone is doing its very best to keep hacking at bay. But despite the efforts, they barely seem to have managed to scratch the surface of the cheating problem.

As such, do you feel that the existing methods to control cheating are sufficient? Or is there a major lacking due to which cases of hacking are on the rise?

Let us know your thoughts through the poll given above or the comment section at the bottom. As always, we will be updating this article with the results next week so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
