New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 20, 2022) follows:

Developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts, Battlefield 2042 is the latest and one of the worst installments in the long-running franchise. Released in November last year, the FPS title is set in the near future.

The developers also removed the four predefined classes, with characters in Battlefield 2042 featuring the ability to wield weapons and gadgets from any class.

While the game received praise for improvements in certain aspects of the gameplay and the visual department, game-breaking bugs such as the glitched keyboard and mouse input and game resetting and playing tutorial have ruined the experience for many.

Nonetheless, players chose to give the game another try. But after EA released the Battlefield 2042 v4.1 update yesterday, many are complaining about micro-stuttering and lags (1,2,3,4,5).

The majority of the Battlefield 2042 community seems angry that the developers are still unable to fix the game six months after its release.

Here are some reports from Battlefield 2042 players complaining about micro stuttering after the update to v4.1.

If you see your game stuttering (either PC or Console) and you do care about your Computer or Console wellbeing, STOP PLAYING THE GAME! It is your own valuable time (and if something breaks – money) and nobody would take responsibility for it! With this type of stuttering, I guarantee you cannot enjoy the game more than 20 seconds at a time, no matter what build you have. Stuttering isn’t ok and should not be a normality. Just play the other Battlefields or anything else and let them bring the fixes first!

@StrikerLeecy126 Same problem for me and of course the stutter is always at the most inopportune time when I just have an enemy in my sights. Did EA not test this patch ahead of time? BTW, I have a 1 gb internet download speed so its not me!! 🙁

Fortunately, EA was quick to acknowledge the Battlefield 2042 micro-stuttering issue that surfaced after the recent update and said it is currently under investigation.

Our teams are investigating an issue which has appeared alongside the release of Update 4.1 today #Battlefield. The issue is causing instances of micro-stutters on PC at irregular intervals. We will update this thread with more information as we complete our investigations

It looks like this is probably the last chance players are giving the Battlefield 2042 developers to sort things out. We hope things change for good in the coming days.

As always, we will be updating this space when the issue is resolved so stay tuned.

Update 1 (May 23)
