Microsoft Flight Simulator is one of the most realistic and best-looking games to come out in recent times. With a map spanning the entirety of Earth, players are free to go wherever they want.

Developed by Asobo Studio and published by Xbox Game Studios, it was added to the Xbox Cloud Gaming service in March this year. Unsurprisingly, it went on to win the Best Sim/Strategy Game at The Game Awards 2020.

However, players have encountered various technical bugs such as the Xbox controller not working with the Cloud Gaming version and issue where the mouse cursor would randomly disappear.

That said, many Microsoft Flight Simulator players recently complained that Italian cities were covered in trees and plants. The issue was making it hard for many to see several points of interest such as Ancona and Parma.

So I’m an italian guy and i obviously downloaded the recent world update IX regarding my country. What I saw is a beautiful scenery of LICJ, the cities of Palermo, Torino, Venezia and others are reproduced very well, and an awful bug. If you lowpass some big cities like Milan and Rome, you will see the city scenery is totally occupied by plants. In the streets, in the middle of houses, on top of houses, it seems just like a giant forest. It’s only in a few cities but it makes the experience…how can I say it…weird. Please solve this in the next updates!

Microsoft had apparently noted the issue and decreased the vegetation in the recently released WU9 update.

Hello everyone, Based on feedback received, a reduction on vegetation has been made to a more realistic representation of trees size in all Italy photogrammetry cities impacted by the issue. This is a server-side fix and doesn’t require any download. Thank you, The MSFS team

But soon after the update, many noticed that Italian cities were still covered in trees and plants.

Yesterday WU9 dropped, titled ‘Italy’ instead of ‘Italy and Malta’, but that’s another matter. Many users are complaining that the cities are crowded with trees. There has even been a user who built some sort of hot fixes for this bug. How could such a thing pass QA?

We hope Microsoft Flight Simulator developers soon take a look into the issue and further decrease the trees in Italian cities in the coming days.

When they do, we will be updating this space to reflect the same so keep checking PiunikaWeb for more information.
