[Update: Crashing on iOS 16] Real Racing 3 crashing or not opening after v10.4.2 update, issue acknowledged

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 11, 2022) follows:

Developed by Firemonkeys Studios, Real Racing 3 is a racing game released in 2016 with focus on providing a realistic driving experience.

Real Racing 3 is especially designed for low power platforms (such as mobile devices and TV Boxes), so its focus on realism makes it quite a unique ‘racing simulator’.

Recently, Real Racing 3 received its most recent update. However, it seems that the new patch brought serious issues for players.

More specifically, the latest Real Racing 3 version 10.4.2 update is crashing on mobile devices (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12).

Real Racing 3 crashing or not opening on mobile devices

According to multiple reports, currently many Real Racing 3 players are experiencing crashes as soon as they launch the game.

RR3 crash since update

Just updated RR3 on my iPad Pro. Now, when starting the app, it loads for a few seconds, then crash-closes. I restarted the iPad several times. The game refuses to load. I don’t feel like reinstalling so time to take a break.

Real Racing 3 is now worst game, I don’t like Formula E in this update. I have to do pay lot of gold to buy every cars. Also my iPhone is now crash, wait that means IOS app will shutdown servers?

The vast majority of reports related to the problem come from iOS users. But, there are also some Android users who experience similar situations.

Real Racing 3 v10.4.2 update reportedly brought the issue

The new Real Racing 3 v10.4.2 update patch reportedly is the cause of the crashing issue.

after updated realrace3(10.4.2) on my iphone (ios15.5)it quits unexpectedly.

In some cases, the problem has even more serious consequences. Some players report that their save files are missing after the game crashed.

Official acknowledgment, potential workarounds

Real Racing 3 developers are aware of the problem and are working on a fix. However, there are no details yet on an ETA for the fix’s rollout.

Hey Race Fans, we are aware that some players are experiencing issues with the game crashing, the team are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. We will update players once a fix for this issue is released. We apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.

In the meantime, there are a couple of workarounds that could help mitigate the issue. First, you can try rebooting your device twice (without opening the game between reboots) and then try accessing the game.

Restart your phone twice work for me in a iOS. Just don’t open the app during these 2 restart.

If the above workaround doesn’t work, some users report that reinstalling the game helps resolve the issue.

I just reinstalled it and that corrected the crash. I’m really finished with the game at this point.

We will update this story once new details related to the matter emerge.
