Smite is a popular third-person MOBA that came out in 2014 in a free-to-play format. The game (developed by Hi-Rez Studios) is available on multiple consoles and platforms (including Nintendo Switch).
Smite offers a wide catalog of gods (characters) to choose from, each with their own abilities. The player must learn to use these skills in the best possible way to be victorious.
However, currently many players are facing noticeable performance issues. More specifically, Smite is experiencing FPS drops and lag when using Ne Zha passive ability (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).
Smite Ne Zha passive ability causing FPS drops and lag
‘Ne Zha’ is one of the many gods available in the game. According to multiple reports, activating the Ne Zha passive ability produces noticeable FPS drops and lag.
The issue negatively impacts matches as it delays the player’s actions after activating the passive ability.

Hey, I’ve just tried out Ne Zha for the first time and I’m a bit confused. I thought I heard someone say they fixed the issue with the huge fps drops when playing her. Still, I had a lot of FPS problems playing her.
So was it me or is the issue still there? Hast Hi Rez said they aknowledged it at least?

Ne zha passive causing unplayable amounts of fps drops on pc (xbox too).
How is this bug allowed to exist for more than a day? At least make him unpickable in ranked until he is fixed. Played a ranked game with him only to have 10 fps for half the game.

Some players suggest that the Smite 9.3 update (early April) brought the annoying bug.
Ne Zha passive causing massive FPS drops since 9.3 release
This has been happening since 9.3 patch drop. When gaining and losing his passive stacks you will get massive FPS drops making him almost unplayable. Searching through this reddit this is not the only post about this issue. He needs to be disabled until fixed.

Hi-Rez Studios aware since April, but fix missing from latest update
It’s worth pointing out that Hi-Rez Studios has been aware of the issue since mid-April:
In fact, the game even received a new update at the beginning of May. But unfortunately the fix for the issue was not included.
However, a member of the Hi-Rez Studios team reportedly confirmed that the fix will arrive in the upcoming 9.5 update. But, there is no ETA for it yet.
One of the Olympians said earlier today it is getting fixed in 9.5. Kittenofdoom works at hirez now and confirmed that the fix has been implementes but can’t be sent out until a full patch release.
