Heavily inspired by Pinterest, Collections is a feature that can be found in the Google app. Like Pinterest, it can search, group, and store all the things you searched for on the internet in one place.

It was introduced in 2018 as a replacement for ‘saved pages’. Users can easily access it by opening the Google app and finding the option in the bottom right corner of the app.

People can easily share their collections with each other for easy collaboration.

But according to recent reports from Google app users, it looks like the Collections feature is not working or loading for many.

Some say they tried clearing the Google app cache and data but it didn’t help either. Here are some reports from Google Collections users for whom the feature is not working.

I was checking my Collections page, and most of the images won’t load properly. I tried refreshing the page, and even clearing my Browser’s Cache and Cookies, and neither of those solved the problem. Granted I can still click on them, and they show up in a new tab like normal, I just don’t get why not all of them are loading properly, when they loaded just fine a few days ago? And yes, I did separate my saved images into multiple collections before this change, and they were all working just fine before this change.

I have been unable to add items into my google collections for the past 4 days. This issue popped up out of nowhere since the function was working perfectly fine till last week. Every time I click on the ribbon symbol to add items an error message quoting ‘Couldn’t add the item. Please check your internet connection and try again .’ appears. I have not tampered with my Internet setting and both my WiFi and mobile data seem to be working perfectly fine for all other uses.

Thankfully, a Gold Product Expert commented on the issue and said it is currently under investigation. But they did not share any ETA on when it will be fixed.

Also, we came across a workaround that seems to be helping with the Google Collections not working or loading issue. It requires users to bookmark the result or image they want to save.
