Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, For Honor is an action game that lets players assume the role of a historical warrior. They can choose from knights, samurai, or vikings amongst others.

Both players and critiques have praised the game for its mechanics. They can choose from five factions that have their unique playstyle and perks.

For-Honor

The developers keep For Honor fresh by constantly adding new content to the game in the form of factions and DLCs. But some of these updates result in bugs and issues that sometimes make the game unplayable.

Having said that, For Honor players are now saying (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) that the game is crashing with a bunch of players saying they get a BSOD upon launching the game.

It looks like the problem surfaced after a recent anti-cheat update. Reinstalling the game, verifying files, and even deleting the Easy Anti-cheat cache and .sys file seems to make no difference.

hey guys i havent played for about a week and decided to get on last night and had an anti cheat update to make changes to my computer and normally it works and i click yes, but this time i keep getting a blue screen on my pc and it resets. i kept trying to launch the game but it keeps crashing my pc. i even uninstalled the game today an reinstalled it, but the same thing kept happening, is there a fix?

Both were while playing Orochi. The first was going against that Wu Lin with a huge straight sword. The second was against a Kensei. Both times things seemed to go well until suddenly thz sound stuttered for a few seconds, the screen did as well, and then my PC crashed with the BSOD saying it met an “Unexpected store exception”. It never happened before while playing For Honor, and they’re the first BSOD this computer has ever had in the last four years or so of use. Do you guys think it comes from my PC? Everything’s up to date and, as far as I know, i’ve never downloaded something nefarious. Do any of you guys got this problem?

Fortunately, For Honor developers have acknowledged the problem and said they are currently investigating the crashing issues. But there is no ETA on when it will be fixed.

Update 1 (February 22)

05:43 pm (IST): Here’s a workaround for the BSOD error suggested by one of the affected players. So, if you are still having this issue, then you can try it out.

11:42 am (IST): For Honor support has informed players that the crashing issue is happening on Nvidia driver v456.71 and they are investigating it.
