Cineworld is a popular British film company. It is currently the second largest cinema chain in the world, with hundreds of theaters in several of the most important markets.

Like other cinema chains, Cineworld allows users to reserve movie tickets from a dedicated mobile app for both Android and iOS devices.

However, currently many users are facing issues when trying to use the app. More specifically, Cineworld movie catalog is not loading completely due to a ‘Mandatory resources failed to load’ error message.

Cineworld Android app ‘Mandatory resources failed to load’ error

According to multiple reports, the Cineworld app ‘Mandatory resources failed to load’ error prevents Android users from accessing all available movies in theaters (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

Users are only receiving partial or limited results. So if they want to reserve a ticket for a certain date or access a specific movie, they will be unable to do so.

@cineworld is there a reason why in the Cineworld app I cannot see Everything Everyhwere all at once for unlimited screening for the 10th May but in the website I can? I have booked 2 tickets using mine & my son’s unlimited card but have not received an email confirmation?

@cineworld Hi,Can I know when a updated version is getting released for Android? A unsatisfied Unlimited member.. 😐. Thr is seriously a big bug in the app that half of the movies which are screened are not being displayed or allowing to book with my unlimited card.

According to reports, not even a complete uninstall and reinstall of the app helps to resolve the glitch.

@cineworld Am constantly getting following error message. I have tried uninstall and reinstall but no luck. Error msg: “Please wait. We are loading resources for the app. Mandatory resources failed to load. Reload data”

Furthermore, some reports suggest that problems in the Cineworld app are quite common.

@cineworld Honestly, why DO you have an app?
This isn’t a new thing. It’s been going on for months. I get that I can book via the website. But you have an app. For booking. That doesn’t work.

AGAIN/STILL

🤦🏻‍♂️

Cineworld team already aware

The Cineworld team is already aware of the problem and is working to resolve it. The fix will come with a ‘brand new app for Android’, which will arrive ‘soon’, according to the company.

Hi Ian, thanks for getting in touch. We are aware of some issues with the android app and we apologise for the inconvenience- we’re going to be launching a brand new app for Android soon, but in the meantime, you’ll find that you’re able to manage your bookings via our website.

Meanwhile, the company recommends Android users to access the Cineworld catalog through the website.

We will update this story once news related to the matter arises in the future.
