Fortnite Covert Ops quest missing or disappeared? Here's what you need to know

Fortnite is undoubtedly one of the most popular multiplayer games on the planet. With players currently halfway through Chapter 3 Season 2, many are looking forward to what the game will have to offer in the coming days.

However, some recently reported bugs such as black screen when playing split-screen and Wu-Tang banner not showing up have ruined the gameplay experience for many.

That said, the developers recently added a new quest called Covert Ops. But Fortnite players are now reporting that the Covert Ops quest is either missing or has disappeared (1,2,3,4,5).

Many say they tried restarting their game and reinstalling it but nothing seems to help. Below are some reports from Fortnite players complaining about the missing Covert Ops quest.

it seems like covert ops quests are glitched. I cannot see the quest menu now this happened to me two days ago i did the first quest then after few days i saw the second quest when i checked it yesterday the quest page is no where to be found it and i checked it today as well still nothing can you help me out on this problem

Hi, my in-game name is MonTheDog, I play on PC. I already sent a ticket to the support but they said to post my explanation here. I completed the first Covert Ops quest just in time for the reset (15.00 local time in Italy), made the 10th Kill just as 15.00 rang on the clock, the HUD even showed the quest as completed, but when I finished the game, the reward isn’t there, the quest didn’t count and now I am incapacitated in completing the quests for the pickaxe. Support said this is likely a bug, so can I have my quest accounted for?

As it turns out, the challenges are timed and if you were unable to complete them in the said time period, the next phase will be unavailable.

I’ve seen both reports of people having the challenge counter properly updated to 2/4 or 3/4 and some people saying they got 4/4 already. Also as a note if you missed a previous phase the Covert Ops challenges won’t show up anymore as you have to do each phase. #Fortnite

Unfortunately, those who missed out on the challenge will be unable to get the Free Secret Sledge Pickaxe.
