Paramount Plus subscribers report app lagging or glitching on PlayStation & Smart TV devices

Paramount Plus is CBS’s own streaming service. It seeks to compete in the same segment as other big names such as HBO Max, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video, and Netflix, among others.

Paramount Plus boasts in-house on-demand and live content and others from some of the best producers. Its initial price of 4.99 USD also makes it quite affordable, so many pay for the subscription as a complimentary streaming service.

Paramount+ users can access the service through the website or through dedicated apps. Paramount+ app is compatible with mobile devices (Android and iOS), TV Boxes, Smart TVs, and even consoles.

That said, Paramount Plus app on PlayStation consoles and Smart TVs is lagging or glitching. In addition, it constantly forgets users’ credentials, forcing them to log in again (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).

According to reports, many Paramount Plus users on PlayStation and Smart TV devices are facing serious performance issues. Freezing and lagging in the UI seem to be a constant thing (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

Why does this app suck on every platform? Please! I want to love the service! I have Apple TV, Xbox, Fire Stick, and Samsung TV and it’s unwatchable on all of them. It works alright on my Chromecast with Android TV, but that’s it. Could it be something with my account???

@paramountplus hi,is there an option to get some of my money back each time a show freezes or randomly starts over from the beginning?If so,I think you owe me about $32,346.00.Your app is hot garbage. It’s truly disappointing that it’s the only way to stream Star Trek in the U.S.

Some users have also been facing another annoying issue related to the login system.

Apparently, Paramount+ is continually logging users out, forcing them to re-enter their login credentials every time they try to access the app.

This is an urgent plead to @paramountplus to please find a way for me to not have to sign in to my account every time I open the app on my PS4. I’m digging the content: Halo, Star Trek, the good fight. But you’re killing me with these technical issues.

For some users, this issue has been going on for at least two weeks.

@paramountplus w/the update a Couple weeks ago,this app on my @VizioTV now requires I log-in each time! It’s annoying because while TVs have gotten “smart” unfortunately remotes haven’t! Please fix this issue!
