YouTube is the second most visited website right after Google and the largest video platform on the internet. The service generated $8.6 billion in ad revenue in Q4 2021.
Available in more than 100 countries and 80 languages, it looks like YouTube will retain its position as the largest platform in its niche in the coming years.
However, users often experience technical bugs and glitches such as the blank or missing ‘Research’ tab and the Smart TV app displaying Chinese characters.
And just when YouTube users were getting accustomed to the removal of the dislike button, many are now reporting that the ‘upload date’ is missing from video information (1,2,3,4,5).
For example, when looking at an older video, all they see is the year it was uploaded but not the exact date. Others say the option is missing for them altogether.
Some tried clearing their app and browser data and cache but nothing seems to help right now. Below are a few reports from YouTube users who are unable to see the upload date.
How about you bring back the dislikes. How about you bring back the upload date for all videos. How about you bring back the viewcount for all videos. How about you bring back annotations. How about you make automatic translation optional. Why do you keep removing features???

Why can’t I see the dates videos were uploaded anymore? I don’t understand this, I use to be able to see when videos were uploaded on the site like 15th of November 2015 on a video but now it’s nothing. Like if I search for that video it’ll say on the search result “6 Years Ago” but once I click into the video, all it shows me is the title and views, channel and description. I just want to know why this is the new norm? It’s very strange like the deletion of the dislike button but I know that story but not this one.

Fortunately, YouTube developers are aware of the upload date missing on some videos and are looking into it. They also suggested a workaround that involves clearing the cookies and cache to see if it helps.
Hello – we’re aware that the upload date is missing on some videos & we’re looking into it. Also, you can try clearing your cache & cookies, and updating your browser (or app) to its latest version.

A bunch of users say the upload date is visible if you zoom in less than 100% on the page.
We hope the developers soon resolve the problem so that YouTube users can see the upload date once again. If and when they do, we will be updating this article to reflect the same so stay tuned.
