New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on April 25, 2022) follows:

Founded in 2009 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, WeTransfer is an online file transfer service that enables people throughout the world to easily share files with one another.

In addition to the free service, it also features a premium subscription that offers more storage, an address book, and the ability to protect files using passwords.

The service saw a rapid growth in its userbase, with sales figures increasing more than 26% bringing the overall number to $76 million. It was also preparing for an IPO with a valuation of somewhere around $1 billion.

Having said that, WeTransfer users are now saying that the service is down and not working at the moment. Many say they are facing trouble when trying to download or upload files.

Some are apparently getting ‘An unhandled low-level error occurred. The application log may have details’ error whenever they try to download any file. Changing browsers and clearing cookies and cache isn’t helping either.

Down detector – a popular service that gives information about live outages – also had a couple of reports indicating that WeTransfer is down at the moment.
