Facebook is one of the biggest social networks in the world. The platform has grown more and more over time and has been gaining several useful features.
One of the tools that Facebook offers its users is a login system that other developers can adapt to their games and apps through an API.
If a developer integrates the Facebook login gateway API, users will be able to easily log into that developer’s apps using their current Facebook account. This is similar to what other companies such as Google and even Apple offer.
However, currently many users are facing an issue where the Facebook login gateway is down or not working. Apparently, they are unable to access services, games or apps using their Facebook account due to error code 2.
Facebook login gateway down or not working, users getting ‘error code 2’
According to multiple reports, users of services and games accessed through their Facebook accounts are unable to log into their accounts due to the ‘error code 2’ message.

Official acknowledgment from Niantic
Niantic (Pokemon Go developers) is one of the companies whose apps or games implement the Facebook login gateway. The company has been receiving multiple reports about the situation.
However, Niantic has confirmed that the issue is the fault of the Facebook login gateway and not theirs.
That’s right, Trainer! Some Trainers are having trouble logging in to Pokémon GO using Facebook, due to an issue that may be caused by Facebook. If you have linked other login methods, please sign in using them or try again later. We appreciate your patience. ^RN
