New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 26, 2022) follows:
No Man’s Sky is a game based on crafting and space exploration especially popular among fans of outer space. It is available on multiple platforms and consoles (previous and current generation).
Since its release in 2016, the game has been receiving multiple updates with many changes and new content. Recently, the game received another patch.
However, it seems that the most recent No Man’s Sky update brought some graphical issues related to the quality of the textures (1, 2, 3, 4).
No Man’s Sky blurry or poor textures after latest update
The most recent No Man’s Sky update ‘broke’ the textures of the game as they do not load correctly on various elements and characters of the stage.
Anyone else had this issue and found a fix? Ever since Frontiers, I’ve been getting patches of missing grass textures on planets. I had hoped it would get addressed in a patch, but nothing so far. Nothing I’ve tried has worked, even a reinstall.

In some cases, the game’s textures randomly change color as the player moves through the scenarios.
Textures and colors going wonky
Reporting it now on zen desk. But wondering how many others on PS4 or other platforms are having issues with building textures changing at random or colors not being saved. So far for myself it’s been happening when i change things to wooden textures. I’ll turn in a circle and the default white wooden look goes metallic green or back to original industrial looking design.

Also, for some players the colors in the textures are directly non-existent, which prevents them from changing the color of their builds.
Texture breaking
PC: Hey guys i don’t know should i count this as a bug but my textures started breaking after the update. Even when i want to change colour of my walls or building it cannot be done due colours doesn’t exist. I tried turning off and on game but didn’t helped. Even textures break like on Character, Nature around, creatures etc.

A potential workaround
As a potential workaround you can try lowering the game’s graphical settings by two notches. This helps resolve the issue with the game’s textures according to reports.
Hmmm. I fixed this problem just by lowering all of my graphics settings 2 notches. Which is actually the NMS suggested settings for my graphics card. But I know that many of you have way better cards than mine.

There is still no official acknowledgment from Hello Games (the developers of the game) about this issue. We will update this story as events unfold.
Update 1 (April 15)
10:17 am (IST): No Man’s Sky is getting a massive update with version 3.85. It brings a significant optimization to texture memory usage.
