New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on April 15, 2022) follows:

Destiny 2 was released by Bungie Studios in 2017 as their latest action FPS game in an MMO setting, being the direct sequel to Destiny and all of its expansions.

The Destiny 2 world is full of loot, raids, bosses and challenges that make it a long-lasting experience for fans of this type of game.

Also, after a rough start, the game is now available for free. You can play it on Windows OS devices and current and previous generation consoles.

That said, currently Destiny 2 PC players who purchased the game through the Microsoft Store are facing a ‘Stingray’ error code when trying to run the game via the Xbox app (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

According to multiple reports, many Destiny 2 players on PC are experiencing the issue that prevents them from accessing the game through the Xbox app for PC (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

I am am probably an idiot.

I own every Destiny 2 expansion/dlc available now through legit purchase. But when I try to play I get the Stingray error code. I know Destiny 2 base game is free and I know the expansions added version is off gamepass. But I just need to know how to integrate my $170 gamepass expansions with the base game.

Reports indicate that no method tried by players to resolve the issue has worked. Not even completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game helps.

I’m having the same issue. Tried restarting my computer, logging out and back in, and verifying and repairing the install. I even reinstalled after the old expansions were removed from game pass to fix a different issue. I’m trying another reinstall now.

I saw there was maintenance today but it’s been over for nearly an hour now according to the Bungie help twitter and I’m still having issues.

Bungie team already aware, fix coming soon

The Bungie team is already aware of the issue. The company confirmed that it’s occurring to players on PC when they try to login through the Microsoft Store.

UPDATE: We are currently working on a fix for this issue to be deployed tomorrow, April 15. Players will be unable to sign in on Microsoft Store for PC until the fix is live.
