Final Fantasy XIV is a popular MMORPG title released in 2013. Developed and published by Square Enix, the game takes place in the fictional place of Eorzea.

The title was positively received by players, who have praised it for its progression system and gameplay mechanics. As of October 2021, Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) had more than 24 million registered players, making it the most profitable Final Fantasy title to date.

However, a few weeks ago, players complained about servers going down. That said, developers recently added a new game mode called Crystalline Conflict.

While FFXIV players have praised the new PvP mode, many are expressing their frustration (1,2,3,4,5) since it is not allowing them to queue with friends.

Some only play PvP because it allows them to enjoy the game with their friends and that the absence of duos and team queue is a huge letdown.

Here is what some FFXIV players have to say about the game mode only allowing players to solo queue.

Title says it all. The new pvp mode is fun, it feels balanced (especially compared to the zerg fest that is front lines), and could easily carry pvp in this game. Imagine my surprise when my friends and I were all ready to get together and run some pvp, when we can’t queue? Turns out the new mode is solo only… Even for casual play. I play a lot of competitive fps, I can’t even imagine the reception if there was no group queue at all. Knowing I can never queue with a friend to play crystal conflict has taken all my desire to pvp away.

A lot of people that might be interested in the mode would likely want to queue for casual matches with their friends, will never bother trying the mode out because of this restriction. There is no way to dip your toes in with your friends unless you can corral 10 of them and make them go against each other. Ranked match being solo queue is perfectly reasonable, and I greatly prefer it that way, but there is no reason casual matches should be solo queue only.

Players say FFXIV developers should reconsider their decision and add the ability to queue up with friends in the new PvP game mode.

We hope they take a look at the matter and allow players to enjoy Crystalline Conflict with friends in the near future.
