Amazon Echo Dot & Show units not detecting or connecting to Bluetooth devices, issue escalated for investigation
Amazon, the internet and e-commerce giant, also offers Echo devices as some of the most popular in the home automation and IoT segment.
The Amazon Echo Dot is the most affordable model in the company’s lineup of smart speakers. On the other hand, the Amazon Echo Show is a smart display with many useful features and tools.
However, users of both the Amazon Echo Dot and Echo Show have been facing issues when trying to connect them to other Bluetooth devices (1, 2, 3).
Some Amazon Echo Dot and Show are not detecting or connecting to Bluetooth devices
The Amazon Echo products are capable of connecting to external Bluetooth devices (such as wireless headsets) to expand or complement their capabilities.
But, according to multiple reports, some Echo Dot users are facing an issue where Amazon smart speakers are not detecting or connecting to Bluetooth devices.

Echo Dot no longer find Bluetooth speakers or other Bluetooth devices
I have 4 Echo Dot. As of a few days ago they no longer find any blue tooth devices to connect. All four will search but find none. I have rebooted each dot as well as disconnected, rebooted my wifi then plugged each Echo Dot in to connect. Still nothing. I am able to locate all my bt devices with my phone but to no avail, dots fail to find any of them.

As noted, the bug in question also affects some Amazon Echo Show owners. External Bluetooth devices do not seem to be the source of the problem as they connect to other devices without issue.

2 dots, 1 show will not connect to any bluetooth speakers
I have two Dots and one Show – none of them will connect to any of the bluetooth speakersI’ve tried SoundCore Motion+ speakers, Oontz speakers, and bluetooth earbuds. None of the Echo devices will show any of these.
