Original story (published on April 01, 2022) follows:

If you live in the United States, chances are pretty high you must have heard of the American Express Company. Often called Amex, the payment card service was founded in 1850.

In 2020, they generated a revenue of more than $36 billion. Last year, Fortune Magazine ranked American Express tenth on their list of Top 100 Companies to Work For.

But as is the case with the majority of online services, people encounter some bugs and issues with the service. That being said, American Express users are now saying that they are unable to login into the service via the app or the website.

Those who managed to somehow log in say that nothing was loading. The problem is causing frustration amongst many who want to check their funds or complete transactions.

Many said they tried generic solutions such as clearing app cache, reinstalling the app, and clearing browser cookies but nothing helped.

Down detector – a popular service that gives information about live outages – also had a massive spike in the number of reports that indicated American Express is down or not working.
