Gearbox is one of the most well-known game development teams. They are responsible for the Borderlands saga, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and others.

To improve the player experience, Gearbox developed SHiFT. Basically, it is a reward system for players although it is also responsible for enabling matchmaking and crossplay within Gearbox’s games.

The above means that a crash in SHiFT will always cause problems with all games that depend on the software, and that is exactly what has been happening in the past few hours (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).

SHiFT outage affects Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Borderlands 3 and other Gearbox games

According to multiple reports, there is a SHiFT outage situation that prevents players from accessing Gearbox games (such as Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Borderlands 3 and others).

Cannot log in to gearbox to access multiplayer.

When i start the game, i get the message that i have signed into epic and gearbox. But when i try to use matchmaking, the offline connetion page is up. Then i press go online, and it tells me there is a network error. This feature requires all active players to be connected to gearbox software shift. But it said i was in the beginning.

Anybody else have this problem?

So me and my friend were playing yesterday and MULTIPLAYER IS BROKEN

So basically multiplayer either takes too long to load or it’s just a black screen. Idk if anyone else is getting this problem but i would really want some help here cuz we both got it to grind the game together

Even without trying to connect the lag and stuttering makes it nigh impossible to play even single player on performance. XBONEX.

Gearbox and SHiFT are working on a fix

The Gearbox and SHiFT teams are currently working to restore the correct functionality of the software so that games that depend on it can be played again.

We’re currently experiencing connection errors with our SHiFT services and are working on a fix.

Update 1 (March 26)

04:34 pm (IST): SHiFT on Twitter has confirmed that they have resolved the connection issue and asked players to restart the game for changes to take effect.

Update 2 (March 28)

10:14 am (IST): SHiFT support on Twitter has informed players that they did some improvements with the connection issues. Moreover, they are working to further mitigate the issue.

We have had periods of some improvement with the connection issues that we’re seeing with online play, but are seeing another round of this degraded performance and player disconnections. We’re working on mitigating this issue and restoring online functionality. (Source)
