Developed and published by CD Projekt Red, Cyberbunk 2077 is a first-person open world shooter set in the near future. Players assume the role of a mercenary known as V, with customization options ranging from eyebrows to hair color.

But soon after its launch, those who were waiting for the game to come out for years were disappointed when they learned that the game is full of technical issues.

With players recently complaining about their save game data getting corrupted on PS4 and some unable to loot drones, the title is still affected by numerous bugs and issues.

And as if these weren’t troubling enough, Cyberpunk 2077 players are now complaining (1,2,3,4,5) about FPS drops and stutters. Reports suggest that the issue surfaced after the recent 1.5 update.

Players say that the FPS drops are so severe that they are unable to play the game at all. Some said they tried updating graphic drivers and and reinstalling the game but to no avail.

Below are some reports from Cyberpunk 2077 players who are experiencing FPS drops and stutters.

Hi, i’ve been playing cyberpunk for like 2 days and today my game started to be laggy its not even 10fps, everywhere even in the menu or at the beggining of lauching the game. I tried changing graphic settings or rosolution, but i dont think that’s the issue cause it was set to the high graphic from the beggining and it was smooth, even in the center of the city. Every other game is acting normal just like my laptop in general + my charger is pluged in all the time.

I recently picked up cyberpunk as patch 1.5 came out but I’ve noticed something strange, I cant seem to find anywhere else. I only get about 25-35 fps no matter what setting I’m at, I’ve tried ultra settings (25-35 fps) and then low settings (still 25-30 fps). My GPU usage maxes around 50-60% when in an intensive area My Computer specs are: CPU: Intel i5 7500 GPU: AMD Rx 6600 RAM: 16Gb hyper x 3200mhz ddr4 Ram. does anyone know what might be happening?

Thankfully, Cyberpunk 2077 developers (CD Projekt Red) have acknowledged the stuttering issues that surfaced after the 1.5 update and said the problem occurred whenever players opened the inventory or map.

However, they did not share any ETA on when the problem will be resolved.

Thanks for all the feedback regarding Cyberpunk 2077. We really appreciate all the messages arriving from all over the world – please keep them coming. Following the Patch 1.52 we wanted to take a moment to let you know that we are aware of the following problems reported by some players: FPS drops when opening map/inventory on PC.

We hope Cyberpunk 2077 developers soon find out the reason why the game is stuttering and fix it in the coming days. As always, we will be keeping an eye out for more information and update this space as and when required so make sure you stay tuned.
