Set in the near future, Cyberpunk 2077 is an action RPG that was released in December of 2020. Taking place in a fictional place known as the Night City, players are put in the shoes of a mercenary called V.

Developed and published by CD Projekt Red, the same studio that brought us the likes of the Witcher 3, the game was criticized by players for bugs, especially when it came to the console version.

There were so many bugs and issues upon launch that Sony decided to remove it from the PlayStation Store. The gaming studio also faced a class-action lawsuit that was settled for $1.85 million.

Having said that, PS4 players recently reported that they were facing a ‘The data is corrupted’ error message when trying to load a save file. And now, Cyberpunk 2077 players are saying (1,2,3,4,5) that they are unable to loot drones.

While some say that the issue was fixed in patch 1.3 and resurfaced after the 1.5 update, others say it was never fixed to begin with. Here are some reports from Cyberpunk 2077 players who are unable to loot drones.

Pretty new (restarted after 1.5 / have only 100 hours total). I’ve noticed the past couple days I can’t loot the box drones. The basketball-looking ones are fine, but the finned rectangle drones I can’t loot. It kills me to leave orange markers behind, but I can’t figure out it out. No option to loot appears no matter what I try. What am I doing wrong?

Cannot loot drone? This if my first time playing the game, patch is 1.5. I killed some drones and there are loot cube icon on the drones/minimap but I cannot see the loot or loot it. It is legendary and common loot on 2 different drones. Tried to reload and killed them again but same problem. Is that bug or I need skill?

Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red is yet to comment on the matter. But luckily, we stumbled across a workaround that might help you loot drones in case you are affected by the problem.

It involves skipping time so the drone turns out into a loot bag that players can easily pick up. If you don’t want to skip time, just wander around and it will automatically transform into a bag.

Any time I have issues with looting drones I skip time one hour and a loot bag will appear where drone was

We hope Cyberpunk 2077 developers take a look at the matter and resolve the problem in the coming update. Rest assured, we will be keeping tabs on the issue and update this space as and when required so make sure you stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
