New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on March 01, 2022) follows:

If you are tired of fast-paced Battle Royale titles like Apex Legends and Fortnite and want to play something that resembles reality, look no further than Escape from Tarkov.

Initially released in 2017, the game is currently in Closed Beta. But thousands have already jumped in on the bandwagon and are already playing the game on a daily basis.

That being said, players recently complained that solar power was not working for some and fuel was burning faster even when the game was closed.

Fast forward a few weeks, Escape from Tarkov players are now saying (1,2,3,4,5) that the air filter is bugged and is not offering the skill bonus XP. Many say they tried testing the air filter offline as well as online but no mode offers the XP boost.

Players suggest that the issue surfaced after the recent SJ6 update. Below are some reports from Escape from Tarkov players who are not getting the XP boost.

I was testing the SJ6 update from yesterday last night/this morning and noticed that the starting 40% airfilter skill bonus xp wasn’t working. I retested the bug this morning to make sure I wasn’t losing my mind last night and got the same results. This mornings tests were done in offline for ease but they were the same results from last night’s online and offline raids. Is it possible the air filter bonuses don’t get calculated until you extract/end of raid?

definitely something is up. to me it feels like strength overall is tougher to level up now but that may just be the air filter bug thats fooling me. been trying to get nax strength this week and before i could easily get 2 levels from playing normal now i can barely get a level from strictly cheesing it. idk

Those who built air filters are now angry since they spent a large sum of in-game currency for nothing. Many are now wondering if it is worth constructing the air filter until Battlestate Games fixes it.

In case you did not know, air filters help a lot to boost your skill level and offer additional XP on top. Unlike the previously bugged solar power, it is an important part of the game.

This is the reason why many are angry with the developers and are wondering when it will be fixed. A player allegedly said that they sent a video of the issue to the BSG Community Manager who passed it to the developers.

Also showed it to Emissaries and the BSG Community Manager who passed it on to the devs.

We hope Escape from Tarkov developers fix the broken air filter so players get the bonus XP once again. When they do, we will update this space to reflect the same so stay tuned.

Update 1 (March 25)

04:29 pm (IST): It appears that Air Filter is still bugged in Escape from Tarkov, however, some players are still buying it thinking that it’s fixed (1, 2, 3).
